Why The Hills and The City are my favourite hangover cures...

When I first heard about reality TV 'The Hills' I scoffed that it would be sad to sit and watch people doing day to day things on MTV such as sipping cocktails and chatting about boys on the couch. However I found myself enthralled in one certain episode one eve at home (which I later denied) and decided I wouldn't tell a soul about my newfound junk TV obsession.
Sunday's soon consisted of cups of tea and a night spent in front of the TV, particularly MTV. Soon I found myself loathing Spencer Pratt and applauding Super-slim Audrina Patridge when she finally gave in to Justin Bobby's mind games (after four years however) and found myself liking these complete strangers and wanting to go out and join them in the starry destination that is LA.
The eye and clothes candy also spiralled my obsession and I found myself falling for bad boy Justin Bobby and envying the bland but sweet Whitney Port for her wardrobe. A few season's on and I have caught up on even the first episodes, finding myself at one point pull a sickie to my work for a day long marathon of The Hills.
When The City came out I told myself I wouldn't be so caught up in this reality spin off, however now I find myself dying for the next episode to come and looking forward to seeing Whitney enjoy the single life. Perhaps programmes like these help you to escape and relate to the characters, because honestly, their just ordinary people - with bigger bank accounts and cooler clothes. However part of what I love is their extravagent lifestyles and ability to move on in the dating world so quickly.
What I don't understand however, is why I have also fallen for E! programmed such as Keeping up with the Kardashians and several other secret shows that I don't want to admit to. I even know all the names of the Kardashian sisters now, but I don't care. Its fun to watch and who knows why these girls became famous, their rich, sassy and b*tchy. Good entertainment.
My credit card and overdraft have taken a devastating blow recently. I can't help but admit sadly that seeing the Hills girls go out and blow their cash on cocktails makes me want to exceed my own social life greatly and catch up with the girls more often than usual.
All I can say is I can't wait to see how Kristin deals with Justin Bobby after Audrina admits to her that they met up behind her back. Put on the kettle.
